Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and organised Activities Coordinator to enhance the quality of life for residents in our care facility. The ideal candidate will plan, organise, and facilitate engaging activities tailored to the needs and interests of elderly residents, including those with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in senior care environments, ensuring residents experience fulfilling and enjoyable daily routines.

Duties

Develop and implement a diverse programme of activities suitable for residents with varying levels of mobility and cognitive ability, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care.
Coordinate group outings, social events, and recreational activities that promote socialisation and mental stimulation.
Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to identify individual resident preferences and special needs.
Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve activity offerings.
Foster a warm, inclusive atmosphere that encourages residents’ participation and enjoyment.
Assist in creating personalised activity plans for residents requiring specialised care, such as dementia or Alzheimer’s support.
Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment for residents at all times.

Skills

Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and staff.
Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for caring for the elderly population.
Organisational skills to plan schedules and manage multiple activities simultaneously.
Ability to adapt activities to meet individual resident needs while fostering a positive community atmosphere.
Experience in caregiving or care home settings will be considered an advantage. This position offers an enriching environment where your skills can directly enhance the well-being of our residents through meaningful engagement and companionship.
Full driving licence desirable

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £12.21-£12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 16 per week
