About the role
To be responsible for and ensure the smooth running of the materials department, supplying materials to the production departments in an effective and efficient manner to company and customer standards at all times. To control and be held ultimately responsible for the actions of your personnel providing them with motivation, leadership and direction.
Monday to Thursday 8am – 5pm, Friday 8am – 4pm
Key Job Accountabilities
Mixing and supplying materials to the production departments
Grinding materials.
Management of all resale material.
Management of dosing units.
Managing sickness and absence for the materials team adhering to company policy
Organising the sampling of materials and masterbatch, through to QA approval.
Stocktaking of materials and masterbatch ensuring computer records are kept up to date.
Update computer system for traceability of batches of materials used on a daily bases.
Delegate work to their team and ensuring all company procedures and policies are adhered too.
Carry out administration and reporting as necessary.
Carry out Risk Assessments and maintain records.
Organise and carry out all necessary Training requirements for their staff and maintain records.
Ensure Material yield is at maximum efficiency, implementing new ideas and changes.

Qualifications/Requirements
A willingness to be trained in the operation of all the materials department equipment.
Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, and at all levels within the Company.
Ability to lead and motivate a team of people to achieve agreed goals/objectives.
Be able to work under pressure, remaining calm and in control with the ability to make clear decisions.
Able to respond positively to changing work demands
Confident in making constructive decisions, challenging existing practices and looking for continuous improvement in all areas of work.
Evaluate individuals and assess training requirements.
Ability to listen, give advice and recommendations to people in a positive and constructive manner.
Is conscientious and thorough in all aspects of work responsibilities, and has a professional approach to work.
Highly driven, ensuring that the job is done well and recognising the importance of customer satisfaction in their work
Persistent and not thrown off course by obstacles or difficulty
Is able to work effectively with others as part of a team to achieve team objectives
Offers help, as well as sharing information and own expertise
Plans and organises own work, ensuring a high level of accuracy in all work undertaken
Has a logical and methodical approach to problem solving
Ability to undertake duties in every respect as laid out in the job description (further to training if required)
Ability to monitor quality of others work, ensuring procedures are followed and standards are met.
Good computer literacy skills including Word and Excel
Experience in a supervisory role would be an advantage
A strong understanding of the Blowmould process or similar manufacturing process
