This is a full-time (Monday to Friday; 09:00-17:15), office-based role.

Account Handler (Insurance – Personal Lines & SME)

Location: Westcliff-on-Sea

With so many local brokerages being taken over, many experienced Account Handlers are finding themselves in unfamiliar, corporate environments. If you’re looking for a stable, independent business where your experience is valued and your voice still matters, we’d like to talk to you.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Account Handler to manage a portfolio of:

Motor
Household
Small commercial risks (trades, shops, offices, etc.)

You will take ownership of your own work, handling policies from inception through to renewal, and providing a high-quality, personal service.

Key Responsibilities

Manage new business, renewals, and mid-term adjustments
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and insurers
Negotiate terms and obtain competitive quotations
Ensure accurate documentation and compliance
Manage your own workload and priorities effectively
Identify opportunities to enhance client cover and retention

What We’re Looking For

Essential

Minimum 2+ years’ experience in an insurance broking environment
Strong working knowledge of:
Motor
Household
SME commercial risks
Confident in dealing directly with clients
Ability to manage cases independently

Desirable

Experience using Open GI
Cert CII (or working towards)
