Full job description

1. Job Purpose

To manage and control stock levels, ensuring accurate, efficient, and timely receipt, storage, issue, and movement of materials and components. The role supports production continuity by maintaining correct stock availability, reducing discrepancies, and optimising store operations.

2. Key Responsibilities

Stock Control

Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date stock records within the Company’s stock management system.
Conduct regular stock checks and cycle counts, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
Monitor stock levels and trigger replenishment in line with production and operational requirements.
Analyse usage trends to prevent stock shortages or overstocking.
Prepare regular stock reports for management review.

Stores & Warehouse Operations

Receive, inspect, and book-in all deliveries following company procedures.
Ensure all stock is correctly labelled, stored, and located in a safe and organised manner.
Issue materials, kits, and consumables to production in a timely manner.
Manage returns, damaged goods, and quarantined stock following quality protocols.
Maintain a clean, efficient, and compliant stores environment, supporting 5S and housekeeping standards.

Supply Coordination

Liaise with purchasing, production, suppliers, and couriers regarding stock availability and delivery timings.
Support planning teams with material availability information to keep production schedules on track.
Coordinate inbound and outbound goods movements, ensuring accurate documentation.

Systems & Reporting

Update ERP/MRP systems with stock transactions, adjustments, and goods movements.
Generate and distribute stock performance reports and material availability updates.
Identify and implement system or process improvements to increase stock accuracy and efficiency.

Compliance & Safety

Adhere to health and safety procedures, including manual handling and safe storage guidelines.
Support internal and external audits relating to inventory accuracy, quality, and regulatory standards.
Ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and company procedures at all times.

3. Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Essential

Experience in stock control, warehouse, stores, or supply chain operations.
Understanding of stock management processes and inventory accuracy.
Good IT literacy, including experience using stock control systems.
Strong numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Desirable

Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Forklift licence (Counterbalance or Reach).
Knowledge of lean methodologies such as 5S or continuous improvement.
Experience with systems such as Sage, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.

Stores layout and housekeeping.

Pay: £30,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
