Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Garage Door Installer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining garage doors and related systems. This role requires a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. A background in construction or related trades is highly desirable, along with experience using various hand and power tools. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a dynamic role within a small, family-run team.

Duties

Install new garage doors, including fitting tracks, springs, rollers, and openers according to manufacturer specifications and schematics
Conduct repairs on existing garage doors, including replacing damaged components and adjusting mechanisms for optimal operation
Measure openings accurately to ensure proper fit of garage doors and associated hardware
Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment safely and effectively during installation and repair processes
Interpret instructions to complete installations accurately
Conduct routine maintenance checks on garage door systems to ensure safety and functionality
Collaborate with clients to assess needs and provide professional advice on products and solutions
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times

Skills

Proven experience in construction-related trades such as roofing, carpentry, masonry, or plastering is advantageous
Familiarity with electrical systems related to garage door openers or automation is preferred
Competence in using hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, wrenches) and power tools (e.g., drills, saws) safely
Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and installation instructions accurately
Experience with welding or fabrication techniques is beneficial but not essential
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and quality workmanship
Holds a clean, full UK Driver's Licence.
