Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fabricator/Welder to join our small manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components, primarily using mig welding techniques, to produce high-quality products. Jig work and one off‘s with the occasional site work. Duties
- Perform Mig welding on various materials, including plate, box section etc, ensuring precise and clean welds in accordance with technical specifications.
- Fabricate components by cutting, shaping, and assembling metal parts using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
- Work with different types of welding processes relevant to welding standards.
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues with equipment and ensure optimal operation during fabrication processes.
- Measure materials accurately using basic math skills to ensure proper fit and alignment during assembly.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for cutting, grinding, drilling, and assembling metal parts.
- Assist in the assembly of fabricated components into finished products or subassemblies.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area adhering to safety standards at all times.
Experience
- Proven experience in Mig welding and general fabrication work is essential.
- Familiarity with welding standards and practices is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience working with hand tools, pillar drills, band saws and power tools is required.
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles combined with basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing or workshop environment is preferred.
