We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic children’s nurse to join our established Community Children’s Nursing team.

The service is provided across the locality of East and South East Staffordshire seven days a week, Monday to Sunday between 9am and 9pm, and bank holidays between 9am and 5pm. We also offer 24-hour support to CYP during end-of-life care. The post-holder will be responsible for ensuring delivery of the service in accordance with the agreed service specification and Trust Policies. They will be required to work weekends and bank holidays as part of a rota and be available for 24 hour on-call work when the need arises.

The team works in partnership with children and young people (CYP) aged 0-18yr, their parents/carers and other professional disciplines to support the care of both short and long-term healthcare needs in the home and community settings. This involves assessment, clinical procedures, administration of medications, education, training and support to empower the child and family, and to reduce the need for hospitalisation.

The successful applicant will require post registration experience in acute paediatric care and have the skills and ability to work as part of a team and autonomously, making appropriate decisions to manage the care of children on the caseload. Please see personal specification for more details.
