Based in Bury, we pride ourselves on top-tier craftsmanship, precision engineering, and stunning design. As our workload expands, we are looking for a skilled, passionate, and autonomous Campervan Conversion Technician to join our team.
Please Note: This is not a trainee or entry-level position. We require a proven professional who can hit the ground running from day one.The Role & Responsibilities
You will be responsible for managing conversions from bare shell to final finish. Your day-to-day will involve:
- Complete internal fit-outs of VW Transporter and Ford Custom campervans.
- Stripping, insulating, carpeting, and lining van interiors.
- Installation of pop top roofs
- Installing high-end cabinetry, rock-and-roll beds, and modular furniture.
- Basic 12v electrical wiring and plumbing systems
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient workshop environment.
Required Experience (Non-Negotiable)
- Proven track record: Direct, hands-on experience building VW Transporter (T5/T6) and Ford Transit Custom campervans is strictly required.
- Commute: You must live within a reliable commuting distance of our workshop in Bury.
- Tools: Confidence using a wide range of hand and power tools safely and accurately.
Highly Desirable Skills (Huge Bonus Points)
If you have experience in the following, you will move straight to the front of the queue:
- Pop-top roof installations (cutting, reinforcing, and sealing).
- Diesel heater installations (Webasto, Eberspacher, Autoterm, etc.).
- Window cutting and bonding.
- 12v electrics specific to VW Transporters and Ford Customs ( Victron )
- Sound deadening , insulation and carpet lining
