About Café Lido
Café Lido is a community café at Portishead Open Air Pool, right on the estuary. We're a welcoming spot for locals, pool users and visitors to Portishead run by a friendly mix of staff and volunteers who care about good coffee and good service.
We have recently refurbished the café and are looking for a Café team lead – answering into the site manager and the Board of Trustees. You'll be hands on running the day-to-day operations at the Lido Café and collaborating with the Lido team including the Board of Trustees to grow the business.
The Role:
- Permanent full-time: minimum 5 days/week (35+ hours) with a minimum of one weekend off a month.
- Shift patterns: The opening times of the cafe vary depending on the season and occasional special events, but majority of hours are between 8am and 5pm. (Flexible shift patterns)
- Flexibility: Additional hours may be available during busier summer months
- Pay rates: £13.50 to £14.00 per hour
- Holiday Pay: Statutory paid holiday entitlement – pro rata in line with UK law for regular fixed hours
- Duties: Lead Café team, staff & volunteer recruitment and training, team scheduling, leading shifts (including basic food preparation, drinks preparation, customer service, food hygiene compliance & health and safety checks, till reconciliation), ordering & stocktaking.
You'll Need:
- Demonstrable experience of leading a team in hospitality/retail
- Demonstrable barista experience with professional coffee machines
- Food Hygiene Level 2 (further training supported)
- Basic kitchen preparation experience an advantage
- Ordering / stocktaking experience an advantage
- Friendly, organized, passionate about great customer service and quick service retail
