About the Role
As a Team Leader, you'll play an important role in supporting the day-to-day running of the nursery alongside the management team. You'll lead by example, support colleagues, help maintain outstanding standards of care and education, and contribute to creating an environment where both children and staff can flourish.
You'll work closely with the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager to:
- Support the daily running of the nursery
- Lead and inspire colleagues through positive role modelling
- Deliver exceptional care and learning experiences
- Help maintain consistently high standards across the setting
- Mentor and support practitioners in their professional development
- Build positive relationships with children and families
- Take on increasing leadership responsibilities as your career develops

Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day running of the nursery and lead by example
- Deliver fun, engaging, child-led learning experiences in line with the Curriculum for Wales
- Promote outstanding care, safeguarding, and children's wellbeing at all times
- Support, motivate, and mentor colleagues within the team
- Contribute to planning, observations, assessments, and children's learning journeys
- Help maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and compliance with CIW regulations
- Build strong partnerships with parents and carers
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to continually improve practice across the nursery
- Support quality improvement initiatives, audits, and inspections
What We're Looking For
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years
- Leadership experience or the ambition to progress into leadership
- Level 4/5 qualification, or willingness to work towards, is desirable
- Good knowledge of CIW regulations, safeguarding legislation, and the Curriculum for Wales
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to support others
- Welsh speaking is desirable but not essential
- Driver with access to own vehicle and willingness to obtain business insurance
- A genuine passion for delivering exceptional early years education and care
