Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about culinary arts and food service, offering an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a busy kitchen environment. The successful candidate will support the culinary team in food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. Prior experience in catering or restaurant settings is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This paid position provides a fantastic platform for those looking to develop their skills in the food industry.

Duties

Assist with meal preparation and food safety procedures to ensure high standards of hygiene and quality.
Support chefs and kitchen staff with basic cooking tasks and ingredient organisation.
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping, peeling, and measuring.
Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts.
Help with serving food to customers or staff as required.
Restock supplies and ensure the kitchen remains organised during service periods.
Follow all health and safety regulations diligently to uphold a safe working environment.

Experience

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable but not mandatory.
Familiarity with meal preparation, food safety standards, and kitchen hygiene practices is beneficial.
Experience in food preparation or culinary roles will be considered an asset.
Candidates should demonstrate a keen interest in developing their skills within the food industry and possess good organisational abilities.
No formal qualifications are required; however, a proactive attitude and willingness to learn are essential for success in this role.
