Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Front of House Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving food and beverages, and maintaining a welcoming environment for all visitors. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering a high standard of service and have a keen eye for detail to ensure the smooth operation of the cafe. Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.

Duties

Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately
Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and speciality drinks using a barista machine
Ensure food safety standards are adhered to at all times
Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining a friendly demeanour
Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system
Keep the cafe clean and organised, including clearing tables and cleaning work surfaces
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth service throughout shifts
Manage time effectively during busy periods to minimise waiting times for customers

Qualifications

Previous barista experience or serving experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
Knowledge of food safety regulations is preferred
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills and a friendly attitude towards customers
Ability to work well as part of a team and independently when required
Must be available to work Sundays as this will the contracted work day, Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if necessary as well as covering holidays

Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
