Business Development & Account Manager

Salary + Company Car + Uncapped Commission

RS Electrical & Property Maintenance Ltd is an established and growing commercial electrical contractor based in Cannock, Staffordshire.

We work with businesses, facilities management providers, public-sector organisations, schools and colleges, main contractors and multi-site organisations across the Midlands and throughout the UK.

We're now looking for an ambitious Business Development & Account Manager to join us and play a key role in the next stage of our growth.

This is a new position within the business and a genuine opportunity for the right person to make the role their own.

The Role

We're looking for someone who can build strong commercial relationships, develop our existing customer accounts and create new opportunities for the business.

This isn't simply a high-volume cold-calling role. We want someone who can understand our customers, identify opportunities and build long-term relationships that result in profitable, sustainable growth.

You'll work closely with the Managing Director and wider team, with significant freedom to develop accounts, pursue new opportunities and help shape our business development strategy.

Your responsibilities will include:

Identifying and approaching prospective commercial customers
Developing existing customer accounts and identifying opportunities for additional services
Re-engaging previous and dormant customers
Building relationships with Facilities Managers, Property Managers, Estates Teams, Procurement Teams and other key decision-makers
Arranging and attending customer meetings and site visits
Following up quotations and developing opportunities through to order
Identifying upcoming projects, maintenance requirements and compliance programmes
Building and maintaining a strong sales pipeline
Working closely with our estimating and operational teams
Maintaining accurate records of opportunities, customer activity and next actions
Reporting on pipeline, opportunities, wins and account development
Representing RS Electrical professionally at meetings, networking opportunities and industry events where appropriate

Our Services

You'll have a broad range of commercial services to take to market, including:

Commercial electrical installation
Reactive and planned electrical maintenance
Electrical inspection and testing (EICR)
LED lighting upgrades
Emergency lighting
Fire alarm systems
CCTV
Access control
Intruder alarms
Data cabling
EV charging
Electrical projects and refurbishments
Planned and compliance-related works

This provides significant scope to win new customers while also identifying additional opportunities within existing accounts.

About You

Ideally, you'll have previous business development, account management or commercial sales experience within electrical contracting, M&E, facilities management, building services, construction, property maintenance or another B2B technical/service environment.

Existing industry contacts would be advantageous, but we're more interested in finding someone with the right commercial ability, attitude and drive.
