Job Summary
Demlyn group hotels in Canterbury are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeping team member to join our team. As a Housekeeper assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly environment for our guests. All our hotels are located in Canterbury and you will be required to work within all four hotels.

The hours will between 9am-2pm and based over 4-5 days including weekend availability.

If you have experience in hotel or commercial cleaning and possess excellent customer service skills, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas
- Change bed linens and replace towels
- Vacuum carpets and sweep floors
- Dust furniture and fixtures
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste
- Restock supplies such as toiletries and cleaning products
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor
- Respond to guest requests in a timely and professional manner

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in housekeeping, preferably in a hotel or commercial setting
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Excellent time management skills to ensure tasks are completed efficiently
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects if required
- Strong customer service skills to interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner

Duties

Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, adhering to established cleanliness standards.
Change bed linens, towels, and other amenities as required, ensuring all items are fresh and well-presented.
Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and surfaces to maintain a tidy appearance throughout the establishment.
Vacuum carpets and mop floors to ensure cleanliness and hygiene in all areas.
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel promptly.
Assist with laundry duties as needed, including washing, drying, and folding linens and uniforms.
Ensure that cleaning supplies are stocked and report any shortages to management.
Uphold health and safety regulations while performing cleaning tasks.

Qualifications

Previous experience in hotel or hospitality housekeeping is preferred but not essential.
Strong attention to detail with an ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Excellent time management skills to ensure tasks are completed within designated time frames.
Ability to follow instructions and adhere to cleaning protocols effectively.
Good physical stamina as the role involves standing for long periods and performing manual tasks.
A positive attitude with a commitment to providing outstanding service to guests.
