The role...

As a Litigation Assistant, you play a crucial role in managing a caseload of pre-litigated cases, primarily focused on personal injury claims for our union members. These cases encompass a variety of scenarios, including road traffic accidents, employers' liability, and public liability claims.

A very varied role, the Litigation Assistants carry out a range of tasks, including initial assessment on merits when the case exits the portal, obtaining evidence in support of liability including from witnesses and pre action disclosure, As well as obtaining medical evidence where appropriate, instructing non-medical experts where appropriate and decisions on disclosure, they are assessing value of claim, attending on clients, witnesses, experts, union clients, third parties and defendants.

Who we are looking for...

We are looking for excellent communicators with an outstanding client focused approach with the ability to work efficiently, accurately, and meet deadlines.

Knowledge of personal injury law and familiarity with Pre-Action Protocols, Civil Procedure Rules, and funding procedures is advantageous, but we are open to training candidates who show a strong interest in this area.

Understanding of case management systems and proficiency in utilising the Microsoft suite (e.g., Word, Excel, and Outlook) is also desirable.
