Full job description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated support worker to join the trauma physiotherapy team within the University Hospital of Wales.

As part of a dynamic and supportive physiotherapy team, you will play a key role in delivering early rehabilitation programmes for patients within an inpatient trauma setting, supporting recovery and promoting independence.

The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong interest in rehabilitation and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. Excellent communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, adaptable, and eager to learn and develop new skills. Above all, you will have a caring and compassionate approach to patient care.

Previous experience within a hospital or rehabilitation setting would be advantageous, though not essential.

The post holder will be required to participate in a 7-day working rota in support of the Physiotherapy service.

A full and comprehensive training programme will be provided to support your development within the role.

Principally to provide a service, under the direction of a registered practitioner, to the individuals within a defined area.

They will work with direction to assist the registered practitioner in clinical and administrative duties following specific competency-based training.

They will independently carry out routine treatment programmes to both individuals and groups which have been delegated by a registered practitioner.

They will progress within guidelines laid down by the registered practitioner. They will be responsible and accountable for these tasks.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
