Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Home Assistant to support individuals in their daily living within private residence. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing personalised care, ensuring comfort, safety, and well-being. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those requiring assistance with everyday tasks. Role will require the candidate to work every other weekend around 10 hours.

Duties

Assist residents or clients with personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
Support with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times
Help with household tasks including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation in accordance with care plans
Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in residents’ conditions
Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
Drive clients to appointments or outings as required, maintaining safe driving practices
Follow established care plans to meet individual needs and preferences
Support emotional well-being through companionship and active listening

Requirements

Valid driving licence and experience in driving safely and responsibly
Previous experience working within a care home or providing home care is advantageous
Knowledge of care plans and ability to adapt support accordingly
Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, for effective communication
Basic IT skills for documentation and record keeping
Excellent communication skills to build trust and rapport with clients and team members
Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to assist others
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
