About the Role: Bathgate, West Lothian is a well-connected business location in Scotland, with strong links to Edinburgh, Glasgow, and the wider Central Belt. We are looking for a Director of Business Services who can lead operational performance, improve internal systems, and support the continued growth of the company.

This is a senior leadership role for someone who can manage people, strengthen business processes, and ensure that services are delivered efficiently and professionally. You will work closely with senior management, department leads, clients, and operational teams to make sure the business runs smoothly and continues to improve.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Services Leadership: Oversee daily business service operations, including administration, client support, internal coordination, and service delivery.

Operational Improvement: Review current processes, identify areas for improvement, and introduce practical systems that help teams work more efficiently.

Team Management: Lead and support managers and team members, set clear expectations, monitor performance, and encourage a professional working culture.

Client Service Oversight: Ensure client needs are understood, service standards are maintained, and any issues or escalations are handled professionally.

Performance Reporting: Monitor business service performance, prepare reports for senior management, and provide recommendations for improvement.

Resource Planning: Support staffing, workload planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure services are delivered effectively.

Compliance and Quality Standards: Make sure internal procedures, documentation, and service practices meet company standards and relevant business requirements.

Stakeholder Management: Work closely with directors, department heads, suppliers, and client contacts to align business services with company goals.

What We Are Looking For:

Experience: 6+ years of experience in business services, operations management, corporate services, client services, or a similar senior leadership role.

Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage teams, guide department leads, resolve operational issues, and keep people focused on business priorities.

Business Understanding: Strong knowledge of service delivery, process improvement, client management, reporting, and operational planning.

Communication: Confident in leading meetings, presenting updates, writing reports, and communicating clearly with both internal and external stakeholders.

Problem Solving: Able to identify issues quickly, make practical decisions, and improve systems without unnecessary delays.

Organisation: Strong attention to detail, good time management, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy business environment.

Professional Mindset: Reliable, calm under pressure, and comfortable taking ownership of senior responsibilities.

Pay: £5,474.00-£7,916.00 per month
