Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behaviour and Well-being Intervention Worker to support children and young people in developing positive behaviours and enhancing their overall well-being. This role involves working closely with individuals who may require specialised behavioural support, fostering a safe and nurturing environment to promote personal growth and social development. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with children, possess strong mentoring skills, and be committed to making a positive difference in young lives.

Duties

To deliver 1-1 and/or small group work interventions
Implement personalised behaviour intervention plans in accordance with organisational guidelines.
Support children and young people through tailored activities that promote social, emotional, and behavioural development.
Work collaboratively with educators, parents, and other professionals to ensure consistent approaches to behaviour management.
Provide mentoring and guidance to foster confidence, independence, and resilience among participants.
Assist in organising engaging activities that encourage participation and skill-building.
Monitor progress and maintain accurate records of interventions, behaviours, and achievements.
Promote a safe environment by recognising potential risks and implementing appropriate safeguarding measures.
Support reintegration into education where appropriate.
Contribute to team meetings by sharing insights on individual progress and behavioural trends.

Requirements

Experience in schools, alternative provision, residential care, CAMHS, mentoring, or youth work.
Proven ability to work effectively with children and young people from diverse backgrounds.
Strong mentoring skills with a compassionate approach towards behavioural challenges.
Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and intervention techniques.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan and adapt activities accordingly.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
A genuine commitment to supporting the well-being and development of children and young people.
Ability to remain calm under pressure
Ability to maintain professional boundaries
Relevant qualifications or training in youth work or special education are advantageous but not essential. This role offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the lives of children while developing valuable skills within a supportive organisation dedicated to positive outcomes for young people.

Pay: £13.00-£18.00 per hour
