Full job description

Wates Property Services (WPS) are looking for a skilled Carpenter to join our Responsive Maintenance team, supporting a social housing contract across the Redditch area.

This is a hands‑on role where you'll be carrying out day‑to‑day carpentry repairs and maintenance works within occupied homes, delivering a high standard of workmanship and excellent customer service to residents.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out responsive carpentry repairs and maintenance works within social housing properties
Typical works to include doors, frames, skirting, architraves, kitchens, windows and general repairs
Achieve first‑time fix wherever possible
Accurately complete job sheets, timesheets and material records
Identify when additional trades are required and liaise with your Supervisor
Work in line with health & safety and safeguarding standards at all times
Provide a professional, resident‑focused service on every visit

About You

✅ NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry (or equivalent) – essential
✅ Full UK driving licence – essential
✅ Experience working within social housing responsive maintenance
✅ Able to work independently and manage a varied workload
✅ Strong communication skills with a customer‑focused approach
✅ Committed to quality, safety and professionalism
