Little Woodlands Children’s Day Nursery is a brand new, carefully designed early years setting opening in Castle Donington this September and we are looking for an exceptional Deputy Manager to join our leadership team.

This is far more than a standard Deputy role. We are looking for someone passionate, inspiring and hands-on; someone who genuinely loves early years and wants to help shape a nursery where children, families and staff thrive together.

You’ll work closely alongside the Directors and management team to lead the day-to-day running of the nursery, support and inspire staff, uphold outstanding practice and help create a positive, nurturing culture across the setting.

At Little Woodlands, every detail has been thoughtfully designed — from our beautiful learning environments and specialist SEN spaces, to our staff wellbeing hub and calming acoustics. We are building a nursery that values its team just as much as its children.

What the role will involve:

Supporting the daily management and smooth running of the nursery
Leading by example with outstanding early years practice
Supporting, mentoring and motivating the wider staff team
Building strong relationships with children, families and professionals
Ensuring safeguarding and welfare requirements are always met
Supporting staff development, supervisions and training
Helping to create inspiring learning environments and experiences
Being hands-on within rooms and present throughout the nursery
Supporting occupancy, transitions and the overall family experience
Working collaboratively to help shape the culture and vision of Little Woodlands from the ground up

What we’re looking for:

A warm, passionate and approachable leader
Previous nursery leadership or management experience essential
Level 3 qualification (or above) in Early Years essential
Strong knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding requirements
Someone proactive, organised and calm under pressure
A genuine team player who values relationships and positivity
Someone who wants to grow with us long-term and be part of our journey
