Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and caring Unit Head to join our early childhood education team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of children within a nurturing environment. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about childcare, management, and leadership, with a focus on fostering a positive learning experience for young children. Candidates should possess strong communication skills in English and be comfortable engaging with children, parents, and colleagues alike.

Duties

Assist in the daily care and supervision of children within the nursery setting
Support the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development
Maintain a safe, clean, and organised environment conducive to early childhood education
Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their social, emotional, and physical growth
Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and needs
Support management in maintaining nursery policies and procedures
Assist with administrative tasks as required, including record keeping and reporting
Drive nursery vehicles when necessary to facilitate outings or transportation needs
Unit Head would be responsible for leading, guiding and overseeing the running of the room.

Experience

Previous experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is highly desirable
Unit head position experience would be essential.
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
Demonstrated management or leadership skills within a childcare environment
Experience with organising activities that promote child development
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Valid driving licence is preferred to support transportation duties
Experience with childcare management systems or record keeping is advantageous
