About Us: We are a long established, charity based in the Manor area of Sheffield. Our main focus is the support of local employment and starter businesses. To this end we have a trading subsidiary called Alison Business Centre that rents and services small premises to small and starter businesses.
We are presently expanding our portfolio of rental premises and therefore we are looking for an additional member of our team to assist us in our accounts department. We are a small and friendly team and would provide a supportive and friendly hand to the successful applicant.
You will bring a genuine willingness and enthusiasm to work in a busy office and be able to display a thoughtful and professional attitude at all times, in learning and assisting with a broad range of accounting services.
Responsibilities
The overall purpose of the role is to support the Accounts Administrator in the day to day administration of the accounting functions for the company.
Duties will include:-
· Posting of receipts and payments onto the companies accounting records within Sage 50
· Processing of customer invoices
· Maintenance of sales and purchase ledgers and debt control.
· Cross checking invoices with Sage 50 to determine any anomalies
· Matching supplier invoices to statements and purchase orders to invoices
· Processing invoice queries and liaise with suppliers and clients to resolve disputes
· Bank Reconciliations
· General administration
Assist in:-
· The production of financial statements and applications
· Preparation of spreadsheets, reports and correspondence as required
· Ensuring effective payment of invoices
· Resolution of finance related queries
· Assist with end of year preparation and procedures
· Assist in the preparation and management of all aspects of the monthly payroll process utilising Sage Payroll.
Ability to Plan, organise and manage own workload to ensure your contribution to the company’s monthly financial reporting process is achieved in a timely and accurate manner is essential.
General Duties and Responsibilities
- To carry out all procedures, responsibilities etc within the organisational guidelines as laid down within the organisation policies
- To take on any other duties as defined by the Organisation that facilitates the smooth running of Manor Development Company Ltd (and other associated companies) under the instruction of the Board/Chief Executive
- Liaise with other departments/key personnel as necessary in order to affect organisational efficiency and maximise the organisation’s aims and objectives
- Provide the best possible service to customers/clients and other representatives both internally and externally at all times in line with the relevant policies and guidelines as provided
- Adopt a professional and flexible attitude in order to accommodate the needs and requirements of the organisations client base in line with customer services policies and guidelines
- To ensure accessibility by relevant personnel/representatives/clients etc to the organisation’s premises as dictated in the relevant guidelines/handbooks etc
- To ensure the required level of security and confidentiality re all properties, equipment and information systems etc as deemed to be the property of the organisation as outlined in the relevant policies and guidelines
- Attendance at regular staff and other meetings as directed
- Responsibility as an individual that you are familiar with and aware of the content of any information, guidelines and directives as provided by the Board/Chief Executive provided through meetings, memos etc
- To undertake any relevant training in relation to the responsibilities delegated through liaison with the Board/Chief Executive and in line with the organisation’s staff development and training policy
- To carry out all procedures, responsibilities in a manner that promotes equity and diversity in line with the relevant statutory and legal obligations and organisational commitment to equal opportunities as outlined in the organisation’s policies and guidelines
- Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to health and safety
- Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility
Candidate Profile:
· Qualified to AAT Level 2
· Previous experience of working within accounts
· Good level of competence in Microsoft Excel, Word, Sage and Outlook
· Good verbal and written communication skills
· Good organisation skills used in planning own work
· Calm and professional disposition
· Self-motivated and enthusiastic
· Smart, professional appearance
· Flexible attitude and ability to work within a small team
· Good punctuality
· Open to undertaking any in-house training as required
· Ability to work as part of a team
Driving License desirable
Working Hours and Salary
We can be flexible with regards to working hours, but we require at least 25 hours, weekly working hours are between 25 – 30 hours Monday to Friday, between the hours of 9.00 am – 5.00 pm.
Salary will be paid monthly. The rate of pay is expected to be between £25k and £26k (FTE) per annum.
