Job Overview

The Senior Account Executive is a full-time, on-site role based in Newport. This role is responsible for leading key client relationships, overseeing the delivery of insurance and financial services, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing a portfolio of commercial and personal accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and developing tailored solutions in line with NFU Mutual’s products and standards. For the right candidate, and with the right level of success, there is also the possibility of becoming a partner in the business via our Pathway to Partnership programme.

Whilst the history of our business stems from Farming, our Newport office has a wide range of non agricultural business', and so experience in agriculture is useful, but not essential.

Responsibilities

Manage commercial clients insurance requirements by conducting regular reviews of their policies and requirements.
Provide exceptional customer service by understanding client needs, offering tailored insurance or financial solutions, and maintaining ongoing communication.
Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to acquire and retain high-value commercial accounts across multiple industries.
Lead negotiations with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements that align with company goals.
Manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting through closing, including telemarketing efforts and follow-up activities.
Oversee sales administration tasks such as contract management, documentation, and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Requirements

Proven experience in commercial insurance sales with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
Exceptional negotiation skills combined with excellent communication abilities in both English and Spanish; bilingual proficiency is highly desirable.
Knowledge of sales administration processes including contract preparation, documentation management, and CRM systems.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on building long-term client relationships through proactive engagement.
