About the Role
Brown Bird and Company specialise in transforming Land Rover Defenders, VW T6’s and Mercedes Sprinters into beautifully crafted campervans. We are a design led, customer focussed campervan conversion business. We believe in providing our customers with unique and exceptional experiences on the road by building beautiful, practical and unique campervans with great attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.
We’re looking for a skilled Campervan Conversion Technician to join our workshop team. In this role, you’ll bring creativity and precision to every build, turning customer dreams into adventure-ready campers.
What You’ll Do
Fabrication & Assembly
- Manufacture campervan furniture and cabinetry using plywood, laminates, hardwoods, and composite materials.
- Install furniture, storage units, bed systems, kitchen units, and interior trim components.
- Fit wall panels, ceiling panels, flooring, framing battens, and insulation systems.
- Operate woodworking machinery including table saws, routers, edge banders, sanders, and CNC equipment (where applicable).
- Read and interpret technical drawings, build specifications, and production plans.
- Ensure all components are accurately measured, cut, assembled, and installed.
- Carry out quality control checks throughout the build process.
- Work closely with electrical, upholstery, and vehicle installation teams.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Assist with continuous improvement of workshop processes and manufacturing methods.
- Support prototype builds and development of new campervan layouts and products.
- Painting/decorating and final finishing tasks
Quality Control
- Ensure your high-standard of work throughout the build meets our companies and customer expectations.
- Apply strong problem-solving abilities to help develop new ideas and help prevent any potential future issues.
Teamwork & Safety
- Collaborate with our friendly team and follow project briefs diligently and efficiently to meet deadlines. Maintain a safe, organised and tidy workshop environment in line with our health and safety regulations.
- Safely operate power tools in a busy workshop environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in, vehicle or campervan conversions, coach building or a similar hands-on trade.
- Skilled in carpentry, joinery, or fabrication.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and plans.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
