The school is registered for up to 15 young people who reside with Blue Mountain Homes.
We are currently unable to offer Sponsorship or a Sponsorship Switch.
As Ofsted require us to refer to young people/youth as ‘children’, our official Job Title reflects that. However, as our young people are aged up to 18 years, the term ‘youth’ describes them more fittingly.

Pi-Education π represents creating a well-rounded educational journey with the young person at the centre. Pi-Education π is built around hobbies, interests and likes. This provides the opportunity to link project-based learning to relevant qualification aims for the individual whilst mapping to the National Curriculum.
Purpose of the Post: To carry out duties and responsibilities of the agreed framework and the Education Act 2002, with particular regard to the regulations made under Section 133 and the statutory responsibilities of the Proprietor of the school.
It is the role of the Headteacher to co-ordinate the teaching and learning taking place at a group of schools providing education for pupils reside within Blue Mountain Homes. You are responsible for the organisation and implementation of the curriculum by supervising and monitoring the work of the Teachers and Learning Coordinators.
It is the responsibility of the Headteacher to:
1. Supervise the formulation and implementation of schemes of work and curriculum plans in line with school policies work according to the relevant DfES and Ofsted Standards.
2. Ensure that administrative and organisational tasks, including the ordering, allocation and management of equipment and materials are carried out as appropriate. This may be delegated to other staff but remains the responsibility of the Headteacher.
3. Manage the educational budget by planning expenditure and keeping accurate records in the company format.
4. Ensure that curriculum assessment, planning and recording procedures are in place.
5. Communicate and co-operate with people or organisations relevant to the educational needs of the young people and to liaise with other professionals as and when appropriate to the needs of the pupils.
6. Establish a purposeful working atmosphere and an ethos conducive to progress and development.
7. Develop, inspire and manage a dedicated staff team.
The successful candidate will have
· Three years’ experience in an educational service or school at senior management level.
· Experience of working with looked-after children and multi-agency professionals would be desirable.
· Knowledge and understanding of Ofsted and the Ofsted education framework and inspection processes.
The Head teacher will co-operate with the Company Director, Head of Care and other teaching staff on devising courses of study, teaching programmes, methods of teaching and assessment and pastoral arrangements.

Pay: £44,000.00-£48,000.00 per year
Experience:
- senior management experience within an education setting: 3 years (preferred)
- working with looked after children: 1 year (preferred)
