Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant / Support Worker to join our team, providing exceptional care in both home care settings and care homes. In this vital role, you will support individuals with diverse needs, promoting independence, dignity, and well-being. Your energy and positive attitude will help create a warm, respectful environment where clients feel valued and cared for. Whether assisting with daily activities or offering specialized support for conditions such as dementia or hospice care, your role is essential in enhancing quality of life for those you serve.

Responsibilities

Deliver personalized assistance with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Administer medication safely and accurately following prescribed instructions
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
Support patients with mobility challenges through safe transfer techniques and heavy lifting when necessary
Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
Manage behavior effectively, especially in clients with dementia or Alzheimer's, using patience and understanding
Maintain detailed records of care provided, observations, and any changes in health status
Drive clients to appointments or outings safely when required, ensuring adherence to road safety standards
Assist with light housekeeping tasks to ensure a clean and comfortable environment
Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to coordinate comprehensive care plans

Experience

Prior experience working as a Care Assistant or Support Worker in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home care environments is highly desirable
Demonstrated experience in patient care, including medication administration and behavior management
Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer's support strategies, hospice care, and senior caregiving practices
Knowledge of health and safety procedures such as first aid certification is preferred
Ability to handle physical tasks involving heavy lifting safely and effectively
Experience driving clients or running errands as part of caregiving duties is a plus
Childcare experience can be beneficial for supporting family members or younger clients
