Full job description

We're looking for an experienced and commercially minded General Manager to lead Arena Village, Leeds, a vibrant student accommodation community and a key part of our Ottoway Services Limited UK portfolio.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proven leader to take full responsibility for the operational performance, resident experience, compliance, and people leadership of a large accommodation operation.

As General Manager, you'll lead from the front, creating a safe, welcoming and high-performing environment for residents, guests, visitors and colleagues, whilst ensuring the village consistently delivers against its commercial and operational objectives.

What you'll be doing

You will have overall responsibility for:

Leading the day-to-day operation of Arena Village
Delivering financial performance, KPIs and occupancy targets
Ensuring statutory compliance, health & safety and risk management standards are met
Leading, developing and motivating a multi-disciplinary site team
Maintaining high standards of service, presentation, security and cleanliness across the village
Managing contractor and supplier performance
Producing operational reports and performance updates for senior stakeholders
Supporting resident engagement initiatives that enhance occupancy and customer satisfaction
Building positive relationships within the local community and representing the business professionally at all times.

What we're looking for

We're keen to hear from candidates who have:

Essential

Previous experience in a General Manager, Accommodation Manager or Leadership role
Experience within PBSA, residential, hospitality, BTR, hotels, facilities management or similar customer-focused environments
Experience leading teams and managing multiple priorities
A strong understanding of compliance, health & safety and operational risk management
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Desirable

Experience managing large, high-occupancy sites
Student accommodation or hospitality experience
Exposure to multi-revenue or mixed-use environments
Experience presenting operational performance to senior leadership teams or investors.
