Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking Experienced Shuttering Carpenters / Strikers to join our construction team. This is a long term position 3-4 years. This is a 10 hour shift job plus weekend work available/ overtime. The successful candidates will assist with various carpentry and construction tasks on-site, supporting skilled tradespeople and ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to high standards. This role offers valuable experience in the building industry, with opportunities to develop a broad range of skills across different trades.

Duties

Assisting with fabrication and assembly of wooden structures and components
Using hand tools, power tools, and joinery techniques to support carpentry task
Performing heavy lifting to move materials and equipment safely around the sites
Preparing work areas by cleaning and organising materials and tools
Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations and site protocols
Supporting skilled tradespeople in various construction activities to ensure timely project completion

Skills

Experience or knowledge in fabrication, assembly, and joinery techniques
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment
Familiarity with roofing, plumbing, masonry, electrical systems, and construction painting is advantageous
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Physical fitness to work on-site for extended periods
Strong teamwork ethic with excellent communication skills
Prior experience in construction or related trades is desirable but not essential; training can be provided for motivated candidates
