Restaurant Manager

The Kingham Plough | Kingham, Oxfordshire
Full-time | Permanent

The Kingham Plough is a modern British pub with rooms in the heart of the Cotswolds. Our focus is simple: exceptional ingredients, honest cooking, genuine hospitality, and a relaxed dining experience that keeps guests coming back.

We're looking for a Restaurant Manager who shares that philosophy. Someone who understands that great service is knowledgeable rather than scripted, confident rather than formal, and always centred around the guest.

This isn't a role for someone who wants to stand behind a reservations screen. We're looking for a hands-on leader who enjoys being on the floor, knows how to build a strong team, and takes real pride in creating memorable service.

The Role

You'll lead our restaurant team throughout lunch and dinner service, working closely with the General Manager and Head Chef to ensure every service is calm, professional and enjoyable.

You'll be expected to:

Lead service from the floor with confidence and energy.
Inspire, coach and develop the front-of-house team.
Create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for every guest.
Build genuine relationships with our regulars and local community.
Maintain exceptional standards of service, cleanliness and organisation.
Work closely with the kitchen to ensure seamless communication throughout service.
Manage reservations and maximise covers without compromising the guest experience.
Help drive the business forward through attention to detail and a genuine passion for hospitality.

About You

You'll probably have experience managing a quality restaurant or premium gastropub and understand what makes great hospitality.

We're looking for someone who:

Takes ownership and responsibility.
Enjoys mentoring and developing others.
Has excellent organisational skills and strong commercial awareness.
Believes hospitality is about making people feel genuinely welcome.

Working Pattern

Full-time.

Essential

Restaurant management experience in a quality food-led venue.
Right to work in the UK.
Own transport is recommended due to our rural location.
