Preschool Teacher required.
Orpington Montessori Preschool is looking forPreschool Teacher to join our friendly preschool in Orpington in Greater London, BR6.
The role will include bringing new ideas and passion to the setting, contributing to lesson planning, observing and recording the children's development and being a key worker.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and reliable Preschool Teacher who is interested in joining our friendly team.
Person Specification
- NVQ level 2/3 or Montessori Qualification with an interest in Montessori techniques.
- Previous experience working as a Preschool Teacher/Montessori Student is preffered, but not essential.
- Two recent references are required; one of which must be from your previous employer.
Professional Skills
- Supervise children throughout the day, indoors and outdoors and ensure the safety and well-being of children.
- Be familiar with emergency procedures.
- Be prepared to flexibly adapt to the diverse situations that arise in early childhood education.
- Create a welcoming and attractive classroom.
- Ensure that the Preschool/Montessori programs are followed on a day-to-day basis when possible.
- Ensuring general child stimulation using equipment at your disposal and keeping levels proportionate to the child.
- Assist children with their activities to develop each child to their full potential.
- To act as a key person to a group of children and discuss their needs with Manager/Deputy Manager.
- Plan and prepare materials for activities.
- Develop positive relationships with parents and staff. Attend parent’s meetings, staff meetings and training when required.
- Keep up to date knowledge of child development and early years foundation, safeguarding children and providing appropriate activities, relevant legislations, policies and procedures to ensure that children are supervised and safe at all times.
- Contribute and adhere to Preschool procedures and policies, e.g. health and safety, risk assessments, confidentiality, data protection, child protection etc.
You will need to have a good command of spoken and written English and be a good communicator.

We are open term time only (salary Pro-rated) which is 38 weeks per year.
Type: Permanent
Hours: 8:30am to 16:00 up to Five days a week, Monday - Friday. Term time only
Salary: £14.25 to £16.50 per hour (including holiday pay) depending on qualifications and experience.
Start date: ASAP, or September term start
