Are you a business-related graduate looking to launch your career in B2B technology sales? We’re looking for an ambitious, curious and driven Sales Development Representative to help accelerate our growth by identifying and developing new opportunities within Industrial Asset Management. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative sales environment, build commercial skills from day one, and develop towards broader sales or account management roles over time.
About the role
As a Sales Development Representative, you’ll play a key role in generating pipeline and supporting business growth through targeted lead pursuit and strategic demand generation activity. Working closely with account sales teams and under the guidance of the Team Leader, you’ll focus on identifying, qualifying and progressing opportunities, while delivering an excellent customer experience and representing the business with professionalism and enthusiasm.
Key responsibilities
· Identify and qualify opportunities within the Industrial Asset Management sector through outbound prospecting, inbound lead follow-up, and account research.
· Engage prospects through phone, email and social channels to generate interest and build a strong sales pipeline.
· Book qualified meetings for sales colleagues and support campaign, webinar and event follow-up activity.
· Work in line with the company’s customer-centric sales approach in all lead generation and pursuit activity.
· Act as a positive brand ambassador in all interactions with customers, prospects, partners and suppliers.
· Maintain accurate CRM records, ensuring opportunities, notes, correspondence and follow-up actions are up to date and correctly categorised.
· Support account sales and field sales teams with pipeline management, forecasting and opportunity progression.
· Contribute market insight, customer feedback and activity data into monthly sales reporting.
· Take an active role in team meetings, knowledge sharing and continuous learning to strengthen product, market and sales understanding.
· Carry out any other reasonable duties required as part of the role.
What we’re looking for
· A degree graduate in a business-related discipline, looking to start a career in technology and industrial sales.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· A genuine interest in developing knowledge of the wider IT landscape and Industrial Asset Management concepts.
· Self-motivation, resilience and a collaborative approach to working with others.
· An inquisitive mindset with a strong desire to learn and improve.
· Motivation to build commercial skills and develop within the role, including through a Sales Degree Apprenticeship if applicable.
Desirable experience
· Previous customer-facing experience in sales, retail, business development, a placement year or an internship.
· Academic background or foundational knowledge of manufacturing, infrastructure or engineering environments.
· An understanding of B2B sales and marketing.
· A full UK driving licence, as occasional UK travel may be required for customer meetings, events and internal collaboration.
Development and progression
This role is designed to provide a strong foundation in business development and technology sales. You’ll gain hands-on experience in lead generation, qualification, CRM management and commercial communication, with potential progression into broader sales or account management roles, subject to performance, capability and business need.
If you’re a motivated graduate who enjoys building relationships, learning about technology, and working towards ambitious goals, this could be the ideal first step in your sales career.
