Are you hardworking, reliable, and looking to start or build your career in hospitality? The Lion Inn is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Kitchen Porter to join our friendly kitchen team.

The Lion Inn is one of Essex's most renowned hospitality venues, combining historic charm with modern luxury. Our award-winning restaurant offers guests an exceptional dining experience, serving high-quality dishes made using the finest locally sourced ingredients in a relaxed and welcoming setting. Alongside our busy restaurant, we cater for weddings, private celebrations, corporate events and hotel guests, making every day varied and rewarding.

About the Role

As a Kitchen Porter, you'll play a vital role in supporting our kitchen team by ensuring the kitchen remains clean, organised and operating efficiently. You'll help maintain high hygiene standards, assist with deliveries, and support the chefs with basic food preparation when required. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin or develop a career in hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

Wash and store kitchen equipment, crockery, cutlery and utensils.
Keep all kitchen areas clean, tidy and hygienic throughout the day.
Assist with receiving, checking and storing deliveries.
Dispose of waste safely and ensure recycling procedures are followed.
Support chefs with basic food preparation as required.
Maintain high standards of food hygiene and health & safety.
Ensure kitchen equipment and workstations are clean and ready for service.
Work as part of a busy team to help deliver an excellent service

What We're Looking For

A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
Reliable, punctual and willing to learn.
Ability to follow hygiene and health & safety procedures.
Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided.
