We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Vehicle Damage Assessor to join our dynamic team. Role Overview:
As a Vehicle Damage Assessor, you will be responsible for inspecting and assessing damaged vehicles, providing accurate damage reports, and working closely with repair shops and insurance companies. You will play a key role in helping to determine the cost and repair needs of vehicles involved in accidents or damage incidents.
You will be required to liase with the parts department when required and send over completed jobs, have great communication skills to enable you to control the work flow through the workshop and navigate vehicles through our QC procedure, ensuring every vehicle reaches our quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and assess damaged vehicles, documenting all visible damage.
- Provide clear and accurate damage reports, including recommendations for repairs.
- Liaise with repair shops, insurance companies, and customers to ensure effective communication.
- Estimate repair costs and assess the feasibility of repairs.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest vehicle models, parts, and repair techniques.
- Ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections and reports.
- Manage the technicians in all departments.
- Ensure workflow through the workshop.
- Most importantly, constantly strive to achieve weekly site targets.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Managerial experience within the motor industry.
- Previous experience in vehicle damage assessment or related roles (e.g., vehicle body repair, claims adjusting).
- Strong knowledge of vehicle repair processes, parts, and cost estimation.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and manage your workload efficiently.
- A relevant qualification in automotive repair or damage assessment (desirable but not essential).
- Thorough knowledge of Audatex system.
- Valid driver's license.
