About the Role
A driven and results-oriented Business Development Executive who plays a key role in driving company growth. The primary focus is generating new business across RDA’s full suite of services, including R&D Tax Relief, Intellectual Property Advisory (IP-A), and DNA identifying, engaging, and onboarding clients who can benefit from these service offerings.
This is a role for someone who thrives on the full sales cycle: from opening new conversations and building pipeline, through to closing deals with confidence and precision. You will be an active user of AI-powered tools in your day-to-day workflow, including RDA’s own proprietary AI system, using data and analytics to sharpen your targeting, refine your approach, and demonstrate value to prospective clients

- You embrace technology and AI tools as a core part of how you work and are keen to develop proficiency in RDA’s proprietary AI system.
- You are a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of the sales process from lead generation through to deal closure.
- You are organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple engagements simultaneously without losing momentum.
- You are eager to develop your knowledge of R&D Tax Relief, IP-A, and DNA services, a willingness to learn is essential.

You will…
- New Business Generation: Proactively identify and pursue new client opportunities across R&D Tax Relief, IP Advisory (IP-A), and DNA services, using a variety of channels including networking, industry events, exhibitions, referrals, and targeted outreach.
- Opening & Closing Deals: Take full ownership of the sales cycle from initial outreach and first engagement through to proposal, negotiation, and contract close. A strong pipeline is only as good as the deals you land.
- AI & Analytics-Driven Selling: Actively use RDA’s proprietary AI system and wider AI-powered tools to identify prospects, analyse engagement patterns, and generate data-led insight that drives smarter, faster business development decisions.
- Pipeline Analytics: Build and maintain a data-rich sales pipeline, using analytics to forecast accurately, identify bottlenecks, and continually improve conversion rates at each stage.
- Client Meetings & Consultations: Conduct informative and engaging meetings with prospective clients, clearly articulating the value of RDA’s services, including R&D Tax Relief, IP-A and assessing their eligibility and fit.
- Referral Network Development: Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients, accountants, introducers, and contacts to build a robust and active referral network.
- Client Onboarding: Manage the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition from initial contact to contract signing, including gathering necessary information and liaising with internal teams.
- Project Handover: Effectively identify and prepare projects for handover to the Operations Team, ensuring all necessary information is documented and communicated.
- CRM Management: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all client interactions, sales activities, and pipeline data within the CRM system.
- Collaboration & Support: Assist the Head of Business Development in managing key partner relationships and support marketing initiatives as needed.
- Continuous Learning: Stay current on developments in R&D Tax Relief, IP-A, and the evolving role of AI in professional services.
Required Skills and Experience · Proven track record of success in business development, preferably in a related field (e.g., finance, tax, technology).· Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.· Ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients.· Strong understanding of the sales process, from lead generation to closing deals.· Experience managing a sales pipeline and CRM systems.· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.· A proactive and results-oriented approach.· Strong organisational and time-management skills.· A willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.· Knowledge of the R&D Tax Credit Scheme is a plus, but a willingness to learn is essential.
· Full UK driving licence
Networking and Travel
· Available to attend ad-hoc events related to RDA sponsorship which can take place during the weekend such as motorsport events and motorsport races.
· Attend a variety of member hospitality and networking events such as ‘networking in Essex’.
Pay: £30,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
