Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Baker/Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and preparation, with a particular focus on baking and pastry arts. This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft high-quality baked goods and desserts in a professional kitchen environment. Responsibilities

Prepare a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, cakes, and desserts according to recipes and specifications
Assist in the development of new pastry ideas and menu items
Ensure all food preparation complies with food safety and hygiene regulations
Operate baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, and pastry tools safely and efficiently
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace at all times
Monitor ingredient stock levels and notify management when supplies need replenishing
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely production of baked goods for service periods
Follow portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in product quality
Assist with other food preparation tasks as required within the kitchen

Skills

Proven experience in food production, baking, or pastry arts within a professional kitchen environment
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Excellent skills in food preparation, cooking, and presentation of baked goods
Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Good organisational skills with attention to detail for quality control
Ability to work effectively as part of a team under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Creative flair for developing new recipes and enhancing existing menu items
Previous restaurant or bakery experience is highly advantageous
