Commis Chef / Chef de PartieFull-Time or Part-Time

Oddfellows Chester
Starting rate: £12.71 per hour

Oddfellows Chester is looking for an enthusiastic and dependable Commis Chef or Chef de Partie to join our busy kitchen team.

We are an independent boutique hotel, restaurant and events venue with plenty of personality. From our Wonderland Afternoon Teas and Sunday lunches to weddings, private parties and immersive dining experiences, no two days in our kitchen are quite the same.

This position could suit an experienced Chef de Partie or a developing Commis Chef who is passionate about food and keen to learn. Both full-time and part-time hours are available.

The Role

Working alongside our Head Chef and kitchen team, you will help to prepare and deliver consistently high-quality food across our restaurant, afternoon teas, events and private dining experiences.

Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to the required standard
Supporting the smooth running of your section during service
Completing food preparation accurately and efficiently
Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and organisation
Following all food hygiene, allergen and health and safety procedures
Assisting with stock rotation, deliveries and reducing food waste
Working closely with the wider kitchen and front-of-house teams
Contributing ideas and enthusiasm to menus, specials and events
Helping to create memorable experiences for our guests

About You

We are looking for someone who:

Has previous experience working in a professional kitchen
Takes pride in the quality and presentation of their food
Is reliable, organised and able to work well under pressure
Has a positive attitude and enjoys being part of a team
Is willing to learn and develop their skills
Understands the importance of food hygiene and allergen awareness
Can work a mixture of weekdays, evenings and weekends
Brings energy, personality and a genuine passion for hospitality

Formal qualifications are welcome but are not essential if you have the right attitude and relevant kitchen experience.

Hours and Pay

Full-time or part-time hours available
Flexible shifts, including some evenings and weekends
Starting rate of £12.71 per hour
Opportunities to develop and progress within the kitchen team
