Full job description

Part-Time Chef de Partie

Shrub is an award winning, AA Rosette level, fully plant-based restaurant serving bold, seasonal small plates inspired by Middle Eastern, Mediterranean and Asian cuisines.

Alongside our mezze-style menu, we serve our award-winning roast, on Sunday.

We've built a strong brigade of chefs who take pride in cooking exceptional food, working hard and constantly improving. We're now looking for a talented Part-Time Chef de Partie to join the team. Someone who already has a solid foundation in the kitchen and wants to continue developing their skills in one of the UK's leading plant-based restaurants.

Whether or not you've worked with plant-based food before, this is an opportunity to learn a different approach to flavour, technique and seasonal cooking. Attitude, curiosity and cooking ability matter far more than previous vegan experience.

The Role

As Chef de Partie, you'll:

Take ownership of your section during prep and service.
Work closely with the senior chefs to deliver consistently high standards.
Support and encourage junior members of the brigade.
Help maintain a clean, organised and professional kitchen.
Contribute to a positive, hardworking team culture.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or a strong Commis Chef ready to step up.
A genuine passion for cooking and learning.
A strong work ethic and excellent attention to detail.
Calm under pressure with a positive attitude.
Reliability and pride in your work.

What We Offer

Tips averaging £2–£4 per hour, plus a share of service charge.

Working Pattern

Part-time hours (to be agreed).
A mixture of double shifts and AM/PM shifts.
Weekend availability is essential.
Flexible rota patterns considered where possible.
