Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Educator to join our OUTSTANDING team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and personalised care. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your management and leadership skills while making a positive impact on children's early learning experiences. The position is paid and suitable for individuals committed to fostering a love of learning from a young age.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver age-appropriate educational activities that promote early childhood development
Support children’s social, emotional, and physical growth through personalised care and guidance
Maintain a safe, clean, and organised environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
Observe, record, and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents and colleagues
Lead small group activities to encourage learning through play and exploration
Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum plans that meet individual needs
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to foster positive relationships
Supervise children during outdoor play, meals, rest times, and outings such as trips or excursions
Manage behavioural issues with patience and professionalism, promoting positive behaviour strategies

Requirements

Proven experience working with children in a childcare or nursery setting
Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages
Management or leadership experience within a childcare environment is desirable
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are preferred
Valid driving licence is advantageous for organising outings or home visits
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while demonstrating initiative and organisational skills
Compassionate nature with a genuine passion for supporting young children's growth and learning
Flexibility to adapt to changing needs within the childcare setting
