Job Overview

As a Finance Business Partner you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information to assist the Business in making well-informed decisions to ensure future stability, growth, and profitability. This role involves budgeting, performance evaluation, cost management, and asset management within the group.

Responsibilities

Core Finance Duties

Produce monthly management accounts and reporting packs for the group's subsidiaries
Prepare cost analysis including standard costing, variance analysis, and overhead allocation across production lines
Perform inventory and stock valuations, including month-end WIP and finished goods reconciliations
Support the preparation of annual statutory accounts for the group
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation for audit purposes

Budgeting & Forecasting

Work with the Group FD to produce group budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans
Prepare and monitor departmental budgets, investigating and reporting on variances against plan
Support cash flow forecasting and day-to-day cash management

Business Partnering

Provide financial insight and reporting to Group Leadership and subsidiary leadership teams
Partner with operational and commercial managers to improve processes, reporting, and decision-making
Analyse production costs, yields, and capacity utilisation to identify efficiency improvements and cost savings
Support senior managers with financial input into business development plans and investment decisions

Systems & Controls

Maintain and improve internal controls, procedures, and financial processes
Support the Sales and Purchase Ledger functions to ensure accurate and timely transaction recording
Contribute to the development and improvement of ERP and reporting systems

Governance & Compliance

Ensure compliance with financial regulations, reporting standards, and company policies
Maintain client and commercial confidentiality at all times
Adhere to Health and Safety policies and environmental management commitments

Qualifications

Essential

Professional accounting qualification or working towards qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
Experience in management accounting within a manufacturing or production environment
Strong understanding of cost accounting, including standard costing, variance analysis, and overhead allocation
Experience with inventory/stock valuation and month-end reconciliations
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, financial modelling)
Experience using an ERP system (e.g. SAP, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics)
Knowledge of UK GAAP or IFRS reporting standards
Ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy

Desirable

Experience with BI/reporting tools such as Power BI
Understanding of bill of materials (BOM) costing and production overhead allocation

37.5 hours per week

Option to work 1 day at home

25 days annual leave plus BHs

Pay: £45,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
