Join Our Team as a Part-Time Caretaker

Beaulieu House – Newport, Isle of Wight

Are you practical, reliable, and take pride in maintaining safe, welcoming environments?

We are looking for a dedicated Caretaker to join our team at Beaulieu House, supporting both our Children’s Home and Short Breaks service. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in creating a safe, well-maintained, and homely environment for the young people we support.

About the Role

Hours: 10 hours per week
Working Pattern: 2 days per week (flexible to be agreed)

You will work alongside two other caretakers to ensure the home environment is safe, well-presented, and maintained to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

Carrying out general maintenance and repairs, including:

Painting and decorating
Repairing walls and filling damage
Fixing broken or worn equipment

Maintaining indoor and outdoor environments, including:

Garden upkeep and appearance
Ensuring communal areas are safe and tidy

Completing regular health and safety checks, including:

Fire safety checks
Water safety checks
General environmental audits

Supporting the upkeep of a safe, homely, and welcoming space for young people, staff, and visitors

Who We’re Looking For

Practical skills in maintenance, repairs, or caretaking
A proactive and can-do attitude
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Awareness of health and safety standards
Reliable, organised, and takes pride in their work

Experience in a similar role is helpful but not essential.
