Conference & Events Operations Manager
We're looking for a confident, organised and hands-on Conference & Events Operations Manager to join the Bryn Williams hospitality team at Theatr Clwyd.
This is a newly created role within a growing business and offers an exciting opportunity to help establish and develop the conference and events operation at Theatr Clwyd. From conferences and meetings to weddings, private events and corporate hospitality, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional experiences across the venue while helping shape the future of this expanding area of the business.
As the conference and events operation continues to grow, business levels may not initially support a full-time events role alone. To provide a full-time position from day one, the role will also include supporting the operation of our new café opening this summer and the restaurant & bar operations where required.
Initially this varied role offers the opportunity to gain experience across the wider hospitality business along with a deep understanding of the Bryn Williams brand while helping build a successful and sustainable events department for the future.
What We Offer
Up to £33,000.00 per annum + gratuities
42 hours per week, 5 over 7 days
Company pension
Staff discounts (20% off food) and Theatr Clwyd perks, including discounted theatre tickets and complimentary cinema tickets
A lively, creative working environment within a theatre setting
The opportunity to help develop and shape a growing area of the business

Lead the set-up, delivery and breakdown of conferences, meetings and events
Act as the operational lead for event service, ensuring smooth and professional execution throughout
Coordinate staffing and team deployment across events and hospitality spaces
Liaise closely with kitchen and theatre teams to ensure seamless event delivery
Ensure event spaces are prepared and presented to agreed specifications
Manage client requirements and act as a key point of contact during events
Maintain high standards of service, presentation and guest experience
Develop SOP’s and spec sheets for the department
Support the recruitment, training and development of event team members as the department grows
Assist with stock control, equipment management and operational planning
Support the day-to-day operation of the new café and theatre hospitality spaces
Work across restaurant service where required to support the wider hospitality team and maintain full-time hours during the continued growth of the conference and events business
Lead by example in delivering warm, attentive and professional hospitality
What We're Looking For
Previous experience in conference and events operations
Experience leading teams in a busy hospitality environment
Strong organisational and communication skills
A calm, solutions-focused approach under pressure
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high standards
Confidence coordinating multiple moving parts during busy events and services
A flexible and hands-on attitude with a willingness to support different areas of the business
A genuine passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences
The ability to build strong working relationships across multiple departments
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to play a key role in developing a growing conference and events business within one of North Wales’s most exciting hospitality and cultural venues.
