Job Title: Potato Rumbler

Company: Paignton Pier Chippy Co.

Location: Paignton, Devon

Job Type: Part-Time

Salary:

Paignton Pier Chippy Co. is looking for a physically strong and hardworking individual to join our team as a Potato Rumbler. This role is essential to our kitchen operations, ensuring our chips and fish are prepared to the highest standards while maintaining strict cleanliness and hygiene.

Responsibilities:
- Operate specialized equipment to prepare and store chips from fresh potatoes
- Handle and store fish in compliance with food safety standards
- Perform deep cleaning of all rumbling and wet room equipment daily
- Maintain and clean the wet room, ensuring hygiene records are updated
- Manage deliveries by unloading, checking temperatures, and storing stock correctly
- Ensure stock levels of essential supplies such as chips, fish, sauces, and packaging
- Work as part of a team but also be comfortable working independently during shifts
- Perform general cleaning duties, including emptying bins and maintaining a tidy work environment

Requirements:
- Must be physically fit and capable of handling heavy loads and large equipment
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding role in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Ability to work alone and take responsibility for essential tasks
- No experience necessary, but knowledge of the food industry is beneficial
- Must be available for weekend, school holiday, and bank holiday shifts
