Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Transport Planner in Genral Haulage to optimise day to day operations and ensure the efficient movement of goods. The ideal candidate will possess strong management, communication, and IT skills, with a solid understanding of Genral Haulage. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for logistics and customer service to contribute to the smooth running of our transportation activities. The position is paid and suitable for candidates eager to develop their career within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Running Day to Day transport schedules to meet delivery deadlines while optimising costs
Coordinate with suppliers, clients, and internal teams to ensure seamless logistics operations
Manage routing and scheduling using Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and Word
Monitor vehicle utilisation, maintenance schedules, and driver availability to maximise efficiency
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards across all transportation activities
Analyse logistical data to identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements
Provide excellent customer service by addressing client enquiries promptly and professionally
Maintain accurate records of shipments, deliveries, and related documentation using IT systems

Requirements

Proven experience in Genral Haulage
Strong driving skills with a valid driving licence recognised in the UK
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and specialised logistics software
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Good IT literacy with the ability to adapt to new systems quickly
Exceptional customer service skills with a professional approach to problem-solving
Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail
