Transport Planner
We're on the lookout for an organised, proactive, and ambitious Transport Planner to join our busy and growing team in Gloucester.
At Keith Rhodes Machinery Installations Ltd, no two days are the same. We operate in a fast-paced environment where planning, communication, and problem-solving are essential to keeping projects moving safely and efficiently. We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running and become a key part of our operations team.
What you'll be doing:
- Planning and coordinating daily transport operations across the UK and Europe
- Allocating plant, equipment, vehicles, and staff to scheduled jobs
- Liaising with customers, drivers, site teams, and suppliers to ensure projects run smoothly
- Scheduling vehicle movements and monitoring transport activities
- Managing driver availability, working hours, and resource allocation
- Preparing transport documentation and maintaining accurate records
- Responding to customer enquiries and providing updates on job progress
- Supporting compliance with transport, health & safety, and company procedures
- Identifying and resolving operational issues quickly and effectively
- Assisting with route planning and maximising operational efficiency
What we're looking for:
- Previous experience in transport planning, logistics, haulage, or a similar role preferred
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Confident using Microsoft Office, Outlook, and transport planning systems
- Ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively under pressure
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Ambitious and keen to develop a long-term career within transport and logistics
The details:
- Full-time, permanent role
- Monday to Friday, 7am–5pm
- Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required
- Salary: £35,000–£45,000 per year, depending on experience
