Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-focused Senior Accounts Technician to join our finance team and report directly to the Finance Director. In this key role, you will oversee day-to-day financial operations, support compliance with accounting standards, and provide valuable insight to inform business decisions. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident finance professional with strong financial management experience and accounting software knowledge to make a meaningful contribution to the organisation’s continued growth and stability.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage the organisation’s financial activity, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting along with supervision of finance staff.

· Prepare and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with recognised accounting standards.

· Maintain accurate accounts payable and receivable records using tailor-written software for our tour operation.

· Identify and lead improvements to accounting systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

· Coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies.

· Support, mentor, and develop junior finance team members.

· Collaborate with colleagues across the business to support planning, strategic initiatives, and operational improvements.

What We’re Looking For

· Proven financial management experience and a strong track record in a finance role.

· Strong knowledge of Sage and other relevant accounting platforms.

· A solid understanding of accounts payable processes and financial controls.

· A solid understanding of accounts receivable processes and financial controls.

· The ability to lead effectively, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.

· Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.

· Relevant professional qualifications are highly desirable.

· The ability to analyse complex financial data and present clear, useful insights to directors.

Pay: £35,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
