Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. This role involves supporting the accounts department with various financial tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in processing financial data. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of accounting software and data entry procedures, contributing to the smooth operation of our financial services. This paid position offers valuable experience in a professional environment, suitable for individuals eager to develop their accounting skills.

Responsibilities

Assist with accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoice batches.
Balance and input of daily business ensuring all discrepancies are justified and adjusted on our systems.
Perform data entry tasks related to financial records, maintaining high levels of accuracy
Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
Reconcile accounts and prepare relevant documentation for audits
Maintain organised records of financial documents and correspondence
Collaborate with the finance team to improve processes and reporting procedures

Experience

Previous experience or familiarity with accounting software including Workday, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or QuickBooks is desirable
Knowledge of accounts payable procedures and financial services is advantageous
Proven experience in data entry within a finance or administrative setting
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Familiarity with basic accounting principles and practices is preferred
