Job Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking individual to join our busy kitchen team as a Support Fryer/Kitchen Porter.

Join our dynamic kitchen team as a Support Fryer / Kitchen Porter, where your energy and dedication will help keep our culinary operations running smoothly! In this vital role, you will assist with food preparation, maintain cleanliness standards, and support the kitchen staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will contribute to a vibrant, efficient, and safe kitchen environment. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on culinary experience and develop your skills in a fast-paced setting.

Kitchen experience is not essential, as full training will be provided. However, previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment would be an advantage.

Duties

Assist with food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and organizing ingredients to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Support the cooking team by handling basic frying and plating tasks under supervision
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations to uphold food safety standards
Ensure proper storage of ingredients and supplies according to health regulations
Help with dishwashing duties, including cleaning pots, pans, and other kitchenware efficiently
Follow all health and safety guidelines to create a safe environment for staff and customers
Support the overall cleanliness of the kitchen area, including sweeping, mopping, and waste disposal

Skills

Basic food preparation skills with an understanding of cooking processes
Previous kitchen or restaurant experience is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm is key!
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a busy environment
Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues
Good communication skills to follow instructions clearly
Willingness to learn new culinary techniques and safety procedures
