As our business continues to grow across retail, ecommerce and wholesale markets, we are seeking an experienced Retail & Wholesale Operations Manager to provide strategic operational leadership and ensure the efficient management of all business operations.
Job Summary
The Retail & Wholesale Operations Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the operational performance of Celimma across its retail showroom, ecommerce platform, warehouse, logistics and wholesale supply operations.
Reporting directly to senior management, the successful candidate will develop and implement operational strategies that improve productivity, maximise profitability, strengthen customer satisfaction and support sustainable business growth.
This is a senior management position requiring strong commercial awareness, operational leadership, analytical skills and experience managing retail and wholesale operations within a fast-paced business environment.
The successful candidate will oversee stock management, procurement, supplier relationships, logistics, customer service, staff performance, operational compliance and business improvement initiatives while ensuring that the company maintains excellent service standards and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Develop and implement operational strategies that support Celimma's commercial objectives and long-term business growth.
- Lead, manage and motivate retail, warehouse, ecommerce and operational teams to achieve agreed business targets.
- Oversee the day-to-day management of retail, wholesale, ecommerce and warehouse operations.
- Ensure efficient inventory management, stock control, purchasing and replenishment processes.
- Coordinate supplier relationships, negotiate supply arrangements and monitor supplier performance.
- Manage warehousing, goods receiving, storage, dispatch and delivery operations to ensure timely customer fulfilment.
- Monitor online order fulfilment processes and work to improve ecommerce operational performance.
- Analyse sales data, operational reports, customer trends and market intelligence to identify opportunities for business growth and operational improvement.
- Produce management reports, sales forecasts, budgets and operational performance indicators for senior management.
- Monitor gross profit margins, operating costs and business performance against agreed targets.
- Develop and implement operational policies, procedures and quality assurance standards.
- Ensure excellent customer service across all retail, online and wholesale channels.
- Handle escalated customer enquiries and implement service improvement initiatives.
- Ensure product availability through effective forecasting and inventory planning.
- Support merchandising, product presentation and showroom standards to maximise sales opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with consumer legislation, health and safety regulations, electrical appliance safety requirements, environmental legislation and company policies.
- Lead continuous improvement projects that enhance productivity, customer experience and operational efficiency.
- Support recruitment, induction, performance management, staff development and operational training.
- Work closely with directors to identify expansion opportunities, improve operational capability and support future business development.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate:
- Proven experience in a senior operational management, retail management or wholesale management role.
- Strong leadership experience managing multidisciplinary operational teams.
- Excellent knowledge of retail and wholesale business operations.
- Experience managing inventory, warehousing and stock control systems.
- Experience coordinating supplier relationships and procurement activities.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to improve profitability and operational performance.
- Excellent analytical skills with experience interpreting sales reports, financial information and operational data.
- Strong organisational, planning and project management abilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritise competing operational demands within a fast-paced environment.
- Experience developing operational procedures and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Sound understanding of health and safety legislation and operational compliance.
- High level of competence using Microsoft Office, inventory management software, ecommerce systems and management reporting tools.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate will possess one or more of the following:
- Degree or Diploma in Business Management, Retail Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or a related discipline.
- Experience within home appliance retail, electrical goods, consumer products or wholesale distribution.
- Experience managing ecommerce operations and online order fulfilment.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems and inventory planning.
- Understanding of digital retail strategies and online customer engagement.
- Experience working within a growing SME business.
- Experience supporting sustainable retail operations and circular economy initiatives.
