Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial management activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in financial accounting and experience with various accounting software platforms. The Management Accountant will play a vital role in maintaining the organisation’s financial health and compliance standards.

Please Note: This job is office based in Cumbernauld, G67, we will require successful candidate to be within travelling distance from our office.

Responsibilities

Prepare and analyse financial statements, reports, and budgets to support management decision-making.
Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
Utilise accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, and other financial management tools to maintain precise records.
Oversee the organisation’s financial management activities, including cash flow forecasting and variance analysis.
Mentor and support junior finance staff or interns, fostering professional development within the team.
Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal policies.
Assist in the optimisation of financial processes and systems to improve efficiency.
Collaborate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation.

Qualifications

Proven experience in financial accounting or management accounting roles.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms.
Strong understanding of financial services industry practices is desirable.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Demonstrated mentoring or leadership capabilities within a finance environment.
Solid knowledge of accounts payable procedures and overall financial management principles.
Relevant professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or ACA are preferred but not essential. This position offers an engaging environment for professionals eager to contribute to organisational success through expert financial management and strategic insights.

Pay: From £48,000.00 per year
